The History behind the Wendy House and What is a Wendy House:
This is the original story behind the Wendy House – John Darling’s hat was used as a chimney and a slipper was used as a door knocker. Toy manufacturers soon created replicas of the stage Wendy house which then became a standard toy found in British garden since then.
Here in South Africa a Wendy house is mostly a prefabricated wood and timber structure or building which is designed and erected in the garden backyard. Wendy houses have many uses such as a kids play area, garden storage units and these days even a well constructed Wendy House can be used as House, it is no longer restricted to a play room for children. With a little imagination and design customised touches and finishes can be added to create something unique and special.
